A big thank you to Hal Bryan at the Microsoft ACES studio for giving me a nod in the latest FSInsider "From the Editor" article.
With his article I can now talk about the work I performed for the Smithsonian!
"Cody has produced a number of promotional films for add-on developers, as well as a number of titles just for the fun of it. His "Oshkosh Virtual Airshow" is a kick (and a timely one, at that) and his trailer for Aerosoft's Hughes H-1 add-on is, in a word, brilliant. Find both of these and more at Jaggyroad's film portal."
But he wasn't done!
"If you want to see Cody's work in a really interesting setting, look no further than the "Fly the Mail" exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air & Space Museum in Washington, DC. They needed some realistic rendered imagery of an airplane in flight in different weather conditions, scenery areas, etc., and when they asked us, I was more than happy to donate Cody's time and effort. And there's more on the way!"
Thank you Mr. Bryan for giving me the opportunity to perform the work. It was and still is an honor and I hope in the future ACES can count on Jaggyroad Films for more projects of this nature.

Here are a few pictures I whipped up. The plane in the first picture is the excellent RWD-8 from the fine folks at the SimHanger Team. The second plane is the AOPA Cardinal from Flight1 which is available to members of AOPA. To save the image(s), right click and save as. The original images are much larger in size, perfect for desktop backgrounds. By the way, to the folks asking questions in the guestbook, it is best if you e-mail me your question and/or leave an e-mail for me to answer it.

| | Aerosoft Hughes H1 Video and more!
| 2008-05-22 11:30:17 PM
|
|---|
I just released the Aerosoft Hughes H1 video (available in the Films/Media section). I have been a beta team member for a little while now, and have thoroughly enjoyed the process. I think you fans of older golden age aircraft are really going to find a gem in this one! Anyways, watch the video and don't forget to leave me a comment on YouTube with your thoughts. In other news, I still haven't uploaded all the .wmv videos! Shame on me. I'll see about doing that this weekend since I got a 3 days off. Lastly, A2A has released their Spitfire MK1A patch which updates the Spitfire to FSX:SP2 standards with its own FSX model. Higher framerates, no see through prop discs and additional texture support. Nuff said! That's all for now.

Since the launch of the website a week ago the website has been an absolute success! I would like to thank Mr George Heib, the man who coded the website, for a large part of its success. George is a dedicated member of FS-MP (http://www.fs-mp.com) as well as a member of our armed forces. He currently is heading to an Arrmy training school to become a drill instructor. Best wishes friend! In other news, Shockwave Productions is now officially A2A (Air to Air) Simulations (http://www.a2asimulations). This name change according to the press release was due to the fact that there were some mix ups between Shockwave Productions and the popular website known simply as Shockwave. "Air to Air Simulations will continue its standard, which is the pursuit of excellence. The change in name will not affect the quality its customers have come to expect from this flight simulation leader. Look for Air to Air to release some of its most ambitious products ever later this year." - A2A Simulations Inc Press Release "Our Boeing Stratocruiser, which has been built using Accu-Sim technology, represents a quantum leap over anything we've done prior. This plane has to be seen, felt, and heard to be believed." -Lewis Bloomfield of A2A Simulations Inc. Being a member of the A2A team I can reaffirm to the comments above about the in progress Stratocruiser. I simply cannot wait until you all get to experience this amazing but strange bird. Until next time friends, Sub Rosa!

| | Discussion about DX10 and more
| 2008-05-12 9:56:56 PM
|
|---|
Phil Taylor (of ACES fame) and myself talked the other day via YouTube about my DX10 VS DX9 video. Mr. Taylor surprised the heck out of me when he created a YouTube account to post on my video! He felt quite naturally that the video was lacking in some areas, specifically with fps comparisons between what I had and a sample with bloom enabled and water at 2.x high. In such a setup, people may find comparable or similar FPS than in the situations in which I showed in the video.
I expressed to him that I unfortunately did not cover this aspect and agreed with his statement. Being that I worked with MS in the past under the Jaggyroad name, I didn't want to create any bad blood, but my worries were nullified as we further discussed. I have to hand it to Mr. Phil Taylor for being an excellent sport in the conversation and being an all around class act.
I would like to point out that I missed a few features in the video, including the new wake system that was implemented with DX10. It seems I accidentally omitted this when crafting the video, albeit it lays on my backup video hard drive unused... Sounds like an opportunity to potentially update the video? Perhaps, but I have other projects I would like to finish before going back to a prior one.
While I have it on my mind, welcome to Jaggyroad Films all you AVSIM members! It seems my little news snippet made the front page, which I am very grateful for. Enjoy the website folks and feel free to leave a little feedback via the contact page.
I must be off now, but before I go, within an hour or less of me posting this message ALL videos will be downloadable in DIVX format in the original master quality of which I recorded them in. I will be working on getting the WMV versions up shortly, but my magic eight ball predicts that tonight it will not happen.

Got quite a few things to cover, so lets get to it shall we? I got all of the DIVX videos for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion uploaded and now are easily accessible in the FILMS/MEDIA section. I have over half of the other videos uploaded in DIVX format, and have over 70% of the WMV videos still to upload. I should hopefully have all the DIVX videos done in totality by the end of tomorrow, with WMV files on their heels over the next couple of days. Moving on.... As some of you may have noticed, the music player only plays on the MAIN PORTAL. You can easily navigate to the other tabs and pages by right clicking and opening as a new tab or new page, thus allowing you to listen to the music while you browse. A few buys have already been found/reported and we are working diligently to fix them. If you see a bug you would like to report, use the CONTACT JAGGY form. I'll be sure to look into any issues you might see.
